[lubuntu] [WS10.x] Lubuntu 13.10 and the "Host SMBus controller not enabled!" message

I installed Lubuntu 13.10 32-bit on a VM created with VMware Workstation 10.x for Windows and I installed the VMware Tools for Ubuntu 13.10. When I boot Lubuntu, this "[9.289020] piix4_smbus 0000:00:07.3: Host SMBus controller not enabled!" message is displayed. How come?
