I've found two separate places that state how to disable the guest OS from using the host's time. One involved editing the .vmx file to include some options setting time sync to false and another that used the vmwareToolBoxCMD tool. I've stopped the clock from syncing with any internet based time server as well. But all this is to no avail as upon booting the VM up after several minutes still yields the correct time.
Has anyone turned time sync off before and know how it's down? The guest OS is windows eight.
