[ubuntu] ubuntu server - hangs on menu screen

hello


i believe i have come across a feature that has the undfortunate effect of stopping my VMs from rebooting alone

the VM host reboots (for whatever valid reason) and the VMs do not reboot

i find the ubuntu based systems sit waiting for a choice from the menu to be taken by someone

what i would expect is that after X seconds the default option be used.


any suggestion on how i can get the expected behaviour to work?
