Hey guys,
So I am very new to this world, but am trying to get a linux machine up and running for my daily work machine. I work at a software company and it seems beneficial for me to learn linux.
Anyways, I'm trying to set up a VM for a couple little things ( I need to be able to use MS SQL server, and I need to be able to use IE (for troubleshooting etc)).
I was suggested VirtualBox, but am encountering the error that I'm seeing others having. That virtualbox cannot be run in a Xen Environment.
Now, I sort of understand what's going on here, but not too well. All I can find on the internet is people being snarky and telling people they're dumb for not knowing what this means.. So I'm hoping you guys could take a second and help me understand.
Using Xen itself for my VM needs seems to be an incredibly intimidating endeavor .. So I'm trying to weigh my options.
Is there a way for me to configure my machine (even if this means reinstalling ubuntu/switching distros) so I can use VirtualBox? Or would tackling the monstrosity that is setting up a VM with xen a simpler solution?
I would really appreciate any help anyone can offer. I apologize for my ubuntu-illiteracy.
Thanks!
