[SOLVED] VMware install erase partition - sanity check

I'm guessing that by selecting 'erase all and install' in the VMware process I'm not going to do any damage to the system that I'm running this in?

I can't see the SCSI3 partition anywhere by looking at something like Gparted or `mount`, so does that mean that its a virtual partition?
