Something very strange - that is killing my ability to run native Kubuntu and do my dev work at a .Net shop with virtual machines.
Often, usually when I can least afford it, my entire system will freeze. Sometimes I can move my mouse, sometimes I can't. If I happen to have focus on KDE when it happens then I can keyboard my way out of it with REISUB. If focus is on Windows, though, no keystroke works. When I finally give up and power down, my system comes back with only one monitory displaying a background. The other (my laptop monitor). Is black. I can move folders on to it, and see them just fine - but I have no panels, widgets, right-click, anything.
I guess first and foremost:
1. How do I troubleshoot what is freezing my system.
2. If it freezes with Windows focus, how can I get out of it gracefully
3. How do I get my screen back?
Thanks, let me know If I'm posting this in the wrong forum.
