Dear Forum:
I've been an Ubuntu user previously, but was unable to install Ubuntu to my desktop due to trouble partitioning (I have fairly complicated partitions set up). As a writer of fiction, I employ Ubuntu to write my novels--the reasons being: compose key, powerful text editors, and (ironically) unhinted fonts.
Unfortunately, my virtual machine's fonts have suddenly become inexplicably blurry. This is directly after I re-installed the nVidia drivers for my GT640 card; for some reason, using the dedicated graphics card produces an unsightly mess font-wise. (See attachments for illustration.) Interestingly, however, taking a snapshot using VirtualBox shows crystal clear fonts--just as they were previously. This leads me to believe, perhaps incorrectly, that the cause is not my Ubuntu font settings; but rather, that the cause is something to do with my graphics driver or VirtualBox settings. I have no serious technical expertise in the matter though, hence my question to the forum.
So: if anyone can figure out why my virtual machine's fonts look a mess, please help.
