I downloaded the trial version of VMware Workstation 12 Pro this evening. I have it loaded on Ubuntu 15.04 x64. Windows 98SE went on without a problem. ACPI wasn't initiated in the registry right out of the gate, but there was no caramel on the tires like with VB. It was as fast as lightning, but with no proper video.
I might not have had to initiate ACPI in the registry, but I did it anyway. I then installed VMware Tools. When it was completed, there it was . . . Win98SE in 1920 x 1080 full screen clarity. So cool. It's in True Color. Wasn't High Color better? That's not an option under the Settings tab. Oh well.
I read a post by Welly Wu and I had to see this virtual magic for myself. So cool. Did I say that? Wow. Thanks, Welly Wu.
My monitor is crystal clear when viewing the guest desktop, I assure you. The VMware screen capture tool isn't too clear. I'll have to do some looking into that.
