I use Kubuntu 14.04 64-bit; kernel version 3.13.0-63-generic (though the problem existed prior to that kernel version); and VirtualBox 4.3.30.
I run Windows 7 in VirtualBox. If I don't allow my Kubuntu computer to go to "sleep," Windows opens and runs beautifully. However, if I do allow Kubuntu to "sleep," Windows opens very slowly (or not at all) and every click or other input take minutes or hours to respond. This is true whether Windows was open when Kubuntu went to sleep or not. The issue only (sometimes) resolves after Kubuntu is restarted. This is quite annoying, as I want to allow my computer to sleep during times of prolonged inactivity, but I don't want to have to restart my computer every time I want to use Windows in the VB.
What could be wrong? Can it be fixed?
(Note: The problem appears to affect my Linux Mint VB, though I rarely ever open it.)
