[ubuntu] Unity missing and other weird issues

Hi guys,

Here's my issue. I was trying to install VirtualBox on my machine (Lenovo z50-70), but something went wrong (evidently) and these are the issues I am facing now because of it:

- There is no bar too close/minimize or maximize the window
- Widnows key + any key doesn't work (Widnows key + L, for lock or Widnows key + D, to minimize all windows).
- Unity not showing up.
- Ctrl + Alt + T doens't work (Terminal). Ctrl + Alt + F1 does. So does Ctrl + Alt + F7.
- No main bar too (i don't know what its called) that displays time and account names and all that kinda stuffs.
- Alt + Tab doesn't work.
- What I've noticed is, when I minimize the window, it usually collapses to the left side, where Unity sits. But now, minimizing a window, collapses it to the upper right corner of the screen.
- If I need to switch to another window, I need to close the active window (since alt tab doesn't work)
- There is no option to close any window (the x icon) or minimize or anything.

Other than reinstalling the OS, is there anything I can try? I've tried all the stuffs with compiz and the stuffs mentioned here: http://askubuntu.com/questions/20442...or-side-panels and various other places, but to no avail.

Please help!
Nikhil
