I run my main OS in a Virtualbox VM. My hardware has a nvidea card, so I enabled 3D in the Display tab of the machine definition. It runs nicely and the whole setup is running with a 10% lower cpu load for displaying HD YouTube video, since introducing the 3D thingy. However, if I look in the "additional drivers" I see as a usable propriety driver: "Innotek GMBH: Virtualbox Graphics Adaptor". I know it is a driver written by the German company that developed Virtualbox. I once tried to use it and it resulted in a black screen after booting. I have 2 simple questions:
- Does that driver support the 3D option in Virtualbox?
- Why should you select that propriety driver?
