Hi all,
I have referred to many GPU passthrough guides but mainly based on this site since the progress I got is the furthest.
My setup is as follows:
-HP Envy 700-070d
-Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-4570 CPU @ 3.20GHz-Intel Corporation Xeon E3-1200 v3/4th Gen Core Processor Integrated Graphics Controller
-NVIDIA GeForce GTX 770
-Linux 16.04 LTS x86_64 Kernel: 4.8.17
-One monitor is connected to the motherboard DVI port, the other connected to NVIDIA DVI port
What I want to achieve is to host Linux on Intel Integrated Graphics and a Windows VM on my Nvidia card.
However, I am stuck with a blank monitor on the iGPU whereas a purple screen with Tux logos on the Nvidia monitor.
I tried reconfiguring with both gdm and lightdm. But both ended up on the same blank screen despite a short Ubuntu loading screen on gdm.
After applying the ASC patch, this is my current IOMMU grouping:
Unlike the guide, I have to blacklist nouveau in /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist.conf as such:
This is what I managed to get after blacklisting nouveau:
And the kernel information on the GPUs are as follows:
The respective GPUs seem to be correctly claimed but I have no idea why there is no display on the iGPU monitor.
And for your information, there's display when I physically remove the NVIDIA card from the motherboard.:mad:
I have also tried updating Intel graphics drivers and using nomodeset on grub.
On bios, Virtualization Technology is enabled and Intel VGA Controller is set as the Primary VGA device.
Any suggestion or advice is appreciated!!
