Hi folks!
I am runnung 18.04 in a Proxmox VM, I use VNC to connect to this machine. The screen auto locks after some time of inactivity displaying only a black screen and blinking cursor. I cannot unlock the session by clicking, moving the mouse, pressing the famous "any" key, nothing. I doubt the session hangs as it still accepts VNC connections. I have checked a few suggestions like multiple monitor configuration but that did not help. My VM uses a "VMware compatible display". In Ubuntu configuration it is named "Unknown display". For now I have simply disabled the screen auto locking feature as it does not really make sense on a VM. But still I'd prefer having this fixed in case someone working on the VM manually locks the screen.
To be honest, I haven't tried installing any VMWare drivers as I don't have any issues with monitor and graphics at all - apart from that, I don't run VMware but Proxmox.
Any suggestions?
