"Errno 5" when installing LTS on VMware

I'm getting this installation error when installing Ubuntu 18.04.1 on a newly-created virtual machine in VMWare:

"[Errno 5] Input / Output Error ... Faulty disc"

I downloaded the ISO several times and am still getting this error. Is there any information about this? I was able to install earlier releases just fine.

The settings I have for this are 4096 MB RAM, 8-core processer, 20 GB maximum HD space.
