[lubuntu] Virtualbox Android fails: black screen

Virtualbox 5, host l-Ub 14.4, guest is
android-x86-8.1-r1.iso
I installed this as a .vdi file.

If I boot from the .vdi then instead of an
android screen I get black screen with what looks like a shell prompt.
If I boot from the .iso -- same result.

So then I tried to install a .vdi image from the Web. All the sites I
could find with Google led me to osboxes.org . When I choose a file
& click Download I get redirected to sourceforge.net . This says
"your download will start shortly" but for at least 2 hours nothing
happens. If I click on "problems" I get a list of mirror sites. I tried
2: same result.


Please any advice? Thank you
