Screen Resolution Problems in VMware

I created a new image using VMWare workstation and installed Ubuntu. When I log into the image, the screen resolution doesnt go any higher than 2560x1600. The quality of graphics are very low too. It almost looks like graphic drivers are not installed. I tried to install the Open VM Tools and it looks like those are already installed. I did get the latest updates too.

Any suggestions on how to fix the graphics issue?
