I have ubuntu 20.04 running on virtualbox. This runs on my IBM PC with an i7 processor that I recently bought.
I had a problem where when ubuntu goes to sleep then the screen never comes back to life. I solved that by changing the power settings.
Now what happens however is say I have the sublime editor open and a couple of terminals. Then if I walk away from the machine for a bit and come back. Ubuntu comes back on but the terminals and sublime session are gone. I suppose I will try changing my IBM PC to not go to sleep but I don't understand what is happening. The screen starts out as black for a number of seconds and then finally it comes back up with the stuff I had running all gone
