Issues with latest updates to 20.04

Apologies if this post is in the wrong location or a duplicate. The search function seems to be having issues and the number of subgroups is overwhelming to a new user like me.

Is anyone else having an issue with the latest August 2021 updates to Ubuntu 20.04? I have 3 small VMware VM's running Sybase and with the latest updates, all 3 won't boot after installing updates and allowing the reboot. No error messages or anything - it just doesn't boot even after letting it sit for 20 minutes on a very fast server & NVMe storage.
