Ubuntu 20 Azure VM resolutions too low

Hi,

I installed ubuntu 20.0 on a Azure VM. after installation i installed GUI on it but now the resolutions are too low.
I did add custom resolutions to via xrandr but no joy.

xrandr --newmode "1920x1080_60.00" 173.00 1920 2048 2248 2576 1080 1083 1088 1120 -hsync +vsync
xrandr --addmode rdp0 "1920x1080_60.00"

Is it possbile to provide a solution? Note that the VM is in Azure.
