I have a sound card that I like but unfortunately it requires some hoops to be jumped through to get it to work in Linux. I need to initalize in Win XP to get it to 'boot' up and be recognized. Once it's up and running from the VM, it will play and capture audio perfectly (usb class compliant it seems) from Linux. I can close Windows and it will stay running until powered down. I even made a cable that applies 5V to its USB port to keep it alive after a computer shuts down. But this is a lot of work.
I would like to find out what Windows is telling this unit in order to be able to eliminate this hardware initialization in Windows. Is there a way to monitor the USB communication?
