VMWare unity mode - Ubuntu 12.04 window drawing issues (overlap)

Hi,
So I am running Ubuntu 12.04 in Unity mode, with metacity (compiz not enabled).

I have also changed the wallpaper to black though that probably doesn't matter.

I notice that when I switch focus between Ubuntu 2 windows on a multi monitor setup on win7, I see drawing issues.
I don't see any such issues with Linux Mint, just the Ubuntu 12.04.

I have disabled compiz and using meta city- any other suggestions? It almost seems like Vmware Unity draws stuff in the wrong windows when it has to draw.
