HI guys,
I have a system that dual boots between WinXP and Ubuntu. It is getting a bit long in the tooth and suffers both in processor speed and hard disk capacity.
I'm contemplating a new motherboard, processor, ram, and hard disk to get it all up to scratch again. What I'm hoping to be able to do, is install Ubuntu as the OS, and fit the existing hard disk from the current system as drive 2, using some variety of virtualisation software to boot the existing WinXP partition under Ubuntu. I don't want to reinstall XP if I can help it, as there are several user accounts and masses of stuff that others in the family would be lost without...
Is there a system that is capable of doing this? If so, what hardware should I be looking at to minimise problems?
