I have tried numerous attempts to convert my VMware images (which all contain multiple vmdk files) to VirtualBox supported images; however, all of my attempts have failed. I've followed several guides, including the wiki on Ubuntu's site, but I always experience issues when trying to start the VM after importing them into VirtualBox.
Does anyone have any idea why VMware is so slow for me in Ubuntu 13.04? For example, it takes 5-10 minutes for me to suspend this Windows 7 VM, whereas VMware Workstation in Windows 8 (on this same system) would take about 2 seconds. My Kali Linux VM takes about 20-30 seconds which is still annoying but falls in the acceptable range. Given the specs of this powerful system, there's no way in hell this should be normal.
I appreciate any advice.
