I have installed VMware 4.0.6. with linux 12.04.2 in it. The host is Windows 7.
Could you please help me with the following issues:
1.)
Even though I managed to establish an Internet connection (I even verified it by using ping), I can use neither Mozilla Firefox, nor Thunderbird and I have no idea why! In my opinion it has to do with the smtp server.
2.)
I cannot mount usb keys, CDs, etc. They are not even recognized by the virtual machine despite being recognized by the host.
3.)
I have an azerty keyboard, but the virtual machine only recognizes qwerty. As a result, whenever I type, VMware interprets the characters differently and it is a bit irritating.
4.)
I found the following command to install puty : sudo apt-get install putty. It doesn't work (I think it has something to do with the Internet connection).
