Hi i had to install win8 to upgrade some laptop firmwares, and im interested on getting back.
My main drawback, is getting a decent Ableton Live enviroment.
Currently im with a virtualbox headless vm with guest adds running 13.04 ,gnome-fallback and freenx ( nx nomachine), and it works very well. I can develop connect remotely like a charm.
Im planning to do the opposite getting ubuntu with xen or kvm extensions, and use spice/ or nx to control a win virtual machine to run ableton (my laptop has vt-d extensions.)
My main audio interface is an usb fast track. Anyone tried running low latency asio interfaces on a xen/kvm with usb passthrough?
does the user experience is ok?
